This Control Panel lets you modify easily some Finder and System's settings.

•WHAT YOU NEED
Any Macintosh running System 7.0.x, 7.1.x, 7.5 or 7.5.1. This Control Panel has been written on a Macintosh Classic with THINK Pascal™ 4.0 (in 24 bits mode, without Color QuickDraw nor virtual memory), then on a Macintosh LC 475 with 040 cache on and 32 bits addressing mode. It should theorically run without any problems on the other Macs. Tested successfully on a Power Mac 8100/80.
If there are some, please send me a note. Tell me which System you run, the mac model, the active Extensions and Control Panels, and also if virtual memory, 32 bits addressing and 040 chache (if there is) are on.
Please, ask for French version if you want it.
•INSTALLATION
Just drag the CustoFinder 7 icon on your System folder, and confirm the installation in the Control Panel folder (by clicking OK).
•INSTRUCTIONS
-Date :
Allow to change the date format displayed in Finder's windows and information window (same format in both case).
Long : Saturday, July 10, 1993, 1:14 PM
Standard (default) : Sat, Jul 10, 1993, 1:14 PM
Short : 7/10/93, 1:14 PM
These formats can be modified in an internal manner by using the System 7's “Date and Time” Control Panel.
Changes active at next Finder restart.
-Show keyboard menu:
Tells the system to display the keyboard menu or not.
System 7.0.x : Default No
System 7.1 and 7.5 : Default Yes
You must reboot to see changes.
-Aliases style:
This lets you change the text style used to display the aliases name on desktop and in Standard File Package's dialogs.
-Small Icons on desktop
Tells the Finder to display small icons on the desktop.
Changes actives at next Finder restart.
•BUGS & LIMITATIONS
-Since CustoFinder 7 acts directly on System and Finder resources, you must reset the options of CustoFinder 7 if you want these customizations to disappear.
-The about dialog box will not be displayed properly if Greg's Button 3.5.1 is installed. This is Greg's Button fault, not mine.
